Diecisiete minutos de intensidad pura, sin escalas, directo a la vena. Eso le basta a “Alloy of the Sky”, el segundo EP de Caosonora, para dejar en claro las cosas. Este trabajo está compuesto por 5 canciones que van en aquella dirección: la intensidad.

La agrupación radicada en Berlín trae bajo el brazo una propuesta fresca y rockera, sin llegar a ser heavy metal, pero si con tintes del sonido stoner y algunas pizcas de doom, elementos que se agradecen, siempre desde la pluma de este humilde columnista.

“Pale Cold Flower” es uno de los singles del trabajo y cumple el papel de, si se quiere decir así, un gran portero, ese que abre la puerta con gentileza y que entrega toda la información con diligencia. Por cierto, cumple con dar la bienvenida a las siguientes estaciones. “The Pundit” sube un poco más los decibeles con una gran entrega vocal, siempre a acompañada de pulcras interpretaciones de los instrumentos. Sin respiro aparece “Triumphs”, pista que se enfoca en “el consumo y la fragilidad de las relaciones humanas en una megaciudad”, según propias palabras de la banda. Desde el punto de vista de la letra, esta es una temática potente y actual y que, aunque sea un tanto obvio recordarlo, se nos suele olvidar porque tendemos a normalizarlo. Todos.

La canción homónima suelta de nuevo el acelerador (¿se había frenado algo?, vale preguntar), compactando toda la fuerza del grupo en menos de 3 minutos: la música y la letra fluyen para entregar una sólida canción, llevando y exhibiendo con dignidad su calidad de homónima y, por si fuera poco, con pasta para ser recordada como una de las mejores del EP. Cierra todo el segundo single: “Wetiko”, track que aborda otra vez el tema espiritual, uno de las tramas centrales a lo largo de todo el EP.

“Alloy of the Sky” es una refrescante propuesta de un grupo que está batiendo sus armas en el difícil y competitivo circuito europeo. Siempre es agradable que una banda vaya fijándose metas y más encima, las vaya cumpliendo. Con este segundo trabajo, Caosonora confirma que va por el camino correcto y que, de seguir así, pronto podríamos verla cada vez más seguido, hecho que sería gratificante.

En este universo musical actual tan variado y enriquecedor, es bueno que grupos como Caosonora mantengan en alto las banderas rockeras, no para pasar la aplanadora sobre los demás sino para decir que el rock y la escena siguen vivas, siguen vigentes, elevando las pulsaciones a mil de quienes disfrutan con este estilo musical. ¡Que venga el que sigue!

Caosonora – Alloy of the Sky

Seventeen minutes of pure intensity, nonstop, straight to the vein. That is enough for “Alloy of the Sky”, Caosonora’s second EP, to make things clear. This work is made up of 5 songs that go in that direction: intensity.

The group based in Berlin brings under its arm a fresh and rock proposal, without being heavy metal, but with hints of the stoner sound and some hints of doom, elements that are appreciated, always from the pen of this humble columnist.

“Pale Cold Flower” is one of the singles from the work and fulfills the role of, if you want to say that, a great doorman, the one who opens the door gently and who diligently delivers all the information. By the way, please welcome the following seasons. “The Pundit” raises the decibels a little more with a great vocal delivery, always accompanied by neat interpretations of the instruments. Without respite, «Triumphs» appears, a track that focuses on «consumption and the fragility of human relations in a megacity», according to the band’s own words. From the point of view of the lyrics, this is a powerful and current theme and, although it is somewhat obvious to remember it, we usually forget it because we tend to normalize it. All.

The eponymous song releases the accelerator again (had something slowed down?, worth asking), compacting the entire force of the group in less than 3 minutes: the music and the lyrics flow to deliver a solid song, carrying and displaying its dignity with dignity. homonymous quality and, as if that were not enough, with dough to be remembered as one of the best on the EP. The entire second single closes: “Wetiko”, a track that once again addresses the spiritual theme, one of the central plots throughout the entire EP.

“Alloy of the Sky” is a refreshing proposal from a group that is fighting its weapons in the difficult and competitive European circuit. It’s always nice when a band sets goals and what’s more, they go on achieving them. With this second work, Caosonora confirms that she is on the right path and that, if she continues like this, we could soon see her more and more often, a fact that would be gratifying.

In this current musical universe that is so varied and enriching, it is good that groups like Caosonora keep their rock flags high, not to pass the steamroller over the others but to say that rock and the scene are still alive, still in force, raising the pulsations to thousand of those who enjoy this musical style.
